Today, Parsons Creek Farm stands as a magnificent property,
a landmark and flagship in the lower Hunter Valley.

With 490 acres (198 ha) of well planned and highly developed irrigated farm,
thoroughbred stud, commercial vineyard, cattle operation and impressive, architecturally designed, contemporary style 2 storey 4 bedroom homestead, Parsons Creek Farm is the ultimate in lifestyle.

HISTORY

Jack and Lucy Horseman moved to Milbrodale in the Hunter Valley in November 1999, with a vision to create a lifestyle for themselves and their families to enjoy. With the help of well known landscape architect Michael Bligh they commenced planting trees for a future garden and also enhancement of the property.

The commercial vineyard was the first major project, being established in 2000 and today has 18hectares under vines.

Fencing contractors and agronomists were then retained to develop the farm, with well designed horse and cattle paddocks and laneways, and prescribed pastures.

A mob of quality Pine Creek Angus cows were then purchased for the farm.

However, it was their passion for thoroughbred horse breeding and racing which needed satisfying. After acquiring two further adjoining dairy farms, and further property development with the erection of the stables near the homestead in 2005 and the main complex on the northern end in 2008, the Parsons Creek Thoroughbred Stud was established. After consultation with well known blood stock identity Vin Cox they then established a select band of mares, following visits to studs and sales in Australia, New Zealand and Kentucky (USA).

The final project was the design and building of the homestead. Retaining Melbourne architect Peter Crick whose work they had admired, the homestead was completed in late 2007, and is now surrounded by easy-care gardens designed by Natures Vision.
