The surrounding region

The Warragundi aggregation is an outstanding holding of five highly productive and dynamic properties situated to the north west of Mudgee, encompassing an excellent mixture of productive farming,grazing and irrigation country. The aggregation has excellent water, with long frontages to a number of waterways, including permanent Cudgegong River, Goolma Creek and Cudgegong Creek. History

The original holding (Glengarry) was purchased in 1976 with subsequent purchases of Mount Jack and Warragul in the early 1980’s and Mobb’s and the main homestead property purchased in the late 1980’s.

Country

An excellent balance of highly productive open grazing and cropping country with predominantly red and brown loams and alluvial flats softly rising to some gently undulating low hill country. Scenically attractive and highly productive country.

Timber

A park-like coverage of shade and shelter timber including box and apple gum with some Kurrajong.

Water

Water is a strength and feature of Warragundi – a long double frontage to the permanent Cudgegong River with frontage also to Cudgegong Creek and Goolma Creek, together with a large network of 56 dams and springs. There are 6 bores among the properties.

Irrigation

Warragundi Farm

A dynamic and highly productive irrigation, cropping and grazing property situated in a recognised farming and cropping district.

Warragundi Farm is the ‘headquarters’ of the Warragundi Aggregation. The property encompasses a mixture of highly productive irrigation country combined with well developed cropping and grazing country, excellent infrastructure and operating improvements.

Situation

Ideally situated 25 minutes from Mudgee (38km), 25km from Gulgong on the Mudgee - Wellington Road.

Homestead

Warragundi Homestead comprises a wonderful 4br double brick homestead situated on the banks of the Cudgegong River. A well built, architecturally designed homestead (860m²) with lovely timber verandahs, set amidst manicured lawns and gardens overlooking the river.

Productivity

Mount Jack

Mount Jack is a mixture of developed grazing and cropping country, with soft red soils and lightly scattered timber. It was purchased in the late 1980’s.
