Meares & Associates are a specialist rural and lifestyle property marketing agency who understand the commercial requirements of the primary producer, the high net worth individual, the corporate and the institutional investor, and are equipped to transact both rural and lifestyle property or strategic agribusiness investments, on their behalf.
As specialists in the full spectrum of Australian rural and lifestyle property, we operate principally in New South Wales but with marketing success also in Queensland, Victoria and South Australia and Tasmania.
Projects include grazing, cropping, irrigation and specialist properties such as land bank – development, forestry, vineyards, olives, vegetables, thoroughbred and other studs.
Together with our networking arrangements both locally and internationally, we have successfully accessed markets Australia wide, for clients both local and offshore.

I have long held a passion for the Australian countryside and the importance of primary production to the Australian economy. In 1996, I decided to create a specialised business to service the rural property and agribusiness markets.
At Meares & Associates, we focus 100% on rural property or agribusiness related products, and we aim to consistently perform beyond our clients’ expectations. We are continually reviewing and refining all aspects of our operation to enhance the quality of our service to our clients. For example, we strive to introduce a new marketing initiative every year.
A key aspect of this service is our strength in marketing. We endeavour to create the most impacting, effective and sincere marketing campaigns to ensure the experience of buying and selling is enjoyable and memorable for all.
We have been involved in everything from the sale of some of Australia’s most significant outback pastoral holdings and leading farms in the inner and more intensive agricultural areas, to boutique wineries, stud farms and lifestyle ‘tree changes’.
We take pride in the fact that the vast majority of our business is either through referral or repeat business. Our up to date and well-maintained database is a valuable resource for building business for our clients and ourselves.

Chris Meares has been a practicing and licensed Stock and Station, Real Estate Agent, Auctioneer and Valuer for 48 years. Chris spent 8 years with a major pastoral house and 16 years as Principal of the successful Weaver Meares & Co at Coolah, NSW – a Company with a strong rural property marketing and valuation business, before he opened Meares & Associates in 1996.
With a solid background in agribusiness, banking, marketing and property throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia, Chris has been involved in the sales and marketing of many of Australia’s leading rural properties.
Chris lives and breathes rural life, and was a founding board member of Computer Aided Livestock Marketing (CALM, now known as Auctions Plus), and a past vice President of the NSW Stock and Station Agents Association. He also managed his own rural property operation and is now retained as an adviser and director to rural investors in both Australia and off shore.
